I practice and teach a yoga breathing meditation that I learned from my friend and mentor David Elliott. I am certified in the four levels of his healer training series and I am also certified as a grief specialist by Our House Grief Support Center. I have practiced this breathing meditation for over ten years and it has been key to having healthy relationships, an energetic mind and body, and the emotional space to enjoy everyday life.
I offer regular meditation groups which are open to anyone. Seventy-five minutes long, these groups are a combination of meditation and discussion designed to help you develop your own meditation and/or spiritual practice, whatever it may be. The groups sometimes have different themes or ideas, but the structure is always the same. We leave feeling energized, relaxed and excited about what is next.
A private session is an option for anyone who is curious about the work but reluctant to try a group, or for those who prefer individual attention.
“Drawing on Grief” is a two hour workshop specifically designed for working with grief creatively. We use the breathing meditation followed by some fun with charcoal drawing to make a space for our sadness to show itself. Grief has a very long shelf life and deserves our attention. If we choose to look at it carefully we can learn to let go of pain or anger and to appreciate our own depths without fear.
“Drawing Together” is a drawing workshop for adults and kids, that does not include breath work. It is perfect for parents and kids who want to make art and drawing a regular part of their home life. Currently I am offering this workshop to private groups.
